Review:

**Thanks to Penguin Random House Canada for sending
me an arc in return for my honest review**

Eve is the first female to have been born in 50 years. She is raised away from the destroyed world and lives her life in the 'dome' where everything seems perfect and peaceful. But, it isn't like it seems and Eve doesn't know that she is trapped until a peek of what lies outside breaks through.

The book switched points of view between Eve and Bram. Both characters live in very different worlds.

Eve has been brought up to believe that she is the saviour of humanity. Being the only female born in 50 years she has been brought up in a world she believes is 'perfect. Everyone treats Eve like she is royalty and needs to be protected. The Mothers take care of her, and promise that when she turns the right age she will be able to choose from 3 carefully selected boys to save the human race. In reality all they are raising her to carry children and help restart the human race.

Eve starts off very naive but as the book progresses she comes to realise that there is evil in the world. After the death of someone close she begins to see that the world around her is corrupt; what she believes is peaceful isn't the reality. Her best friend is Holly, and she knows that her friend isn't a real human. Yet, Eve is smart and knows that more than once person controls her friend. Only when Bram controls Holly will she truly confide in her friend and let her emotions loose.

Bram is one of the pilots in charge of Holly, a hologram girl that is Eve's closest friend. I really enjoyed his character development throughout the book. He feels close to Eve and slowly begins to fall for her. However, Eve doesn't know who he is until later in the book. Their first meeting was very charming and I really enjoyed the protectiveness he felt over her. His love for Eve felt natural and I liked that it wasn't insta-love. However, it did feel like for Eve she very easily fell in love with Bram. Although she had spent a lot of time with Holly, she didn't know it was Bram until later on in the book. After that her love for him grew very quickly.

The concept of the storyline I really enjoyed. I felt the second half of the book was more interesting though perhaps a little too fast paced. Once everything started to grow wrong the events seemed to happen really quickly. I really enjoyed the build up to the main events, explaining how Eve was conceived and the technology aspects were written really well.

This is the first book I've read from either Giovanna or Tom Fletcher. I do feel some parts could have been better written, but I was fascinated by the storyline and the cliff-hanger it ended on has me dying to read the next book. I look forward to seeing where the storyline goes and how the relationship between Eve and Bram grows.
